Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a prescription for physical therapy?
If your insurance participates with the Direct Access Law, you can come in for physical therapy without seeing your primary care physician first. The therapist must be direct access certified in order to see patients under this new law. All therapists at Body Elite are direct access certified. If your insurance does not participate, you will need to see your doctor first.
Who can refer me to physical therapy?
Your primary care physician, a specialist such as orthopedic, podiatrist, etc., or a chiropractor can refer you with most insurances.
Do you file claims with my insurance company?
As a courtesy to our patients, we file your claims electronically to your insurance company. We will even file with secondary policies.
Does my insurance cover physical therapy?
We call your insurance company and verify your benefits for physical therapy before or at your first scheduled appointment. Some policies cover a percentage, and some require a copay per visit. You can find out by calling your insurance company's customer service number listed on your insurance card or by logging on to their website. We have links to all the insurance companies we are contracted with located under the Our Insurance Partners section above.
How much will it cost if I don't have insurance?
If you must pay for services out of pocket, the rates are $150 for an initial evaluation, $120 for a 60 minute session, and $60 for a 30 minute session. The cost per session depends on the services provided and how much time we spend together each visit. We can work out a payment plan that works for you.
